Notes taking are the one of the major objectives of SSL (Self-Study and Learning). The objectives of SSL are diverse and in short, they can be for all types of studies as SSL from bookish to environmental level and so on.
Some of these are as follows:
1. Ability to comprehend the study material.
2. Ability to analyze and synthesize the study material.
3. Ability to apply and utilize the study material.
4. Ability to reproduce and communicate the study material.
5. Ability to maximize the learning.
6. Ability to acquire speed, accuracy and retention in whatever is studied.
7. Ability and its development in diverse direction to comprehend, grasp and lead the life with self-orientation, which means to develop physical, emotional, mental, social, philosophical, educational, spiritual etc. faculties of human being, i.e., student or learner.
The objectives are those values which we consider as desirable for educational development in particular and all round development in general through SSL skills, methods and techniques. Some of the objectives of it have been mentioned, however the basic objectives of these skills, methods and techniques require the following general objectives:
1. Knowledge of and about SSL skills, methods and techniques, which we will discuss throughout this discussion.
2. Comprehension of the skills, methods and techniques.
3. Application skills, methods and techniques for all purposes through the art of transfer of learning.
4. Analysis of skills, methods and techniques.
5. Synthesis of skills, methods and techniques.
6. Evaluation of skills, methods and techniques.
7. Practicability and development of skills, methods and techniques.
